The concluding installment of the star-studded edition of the popular reality show was mistakenly made available by international distributors before its planned UK airing on Thursday night, according to official sources.

It is understood that the final was watched by a few hundred subscribers of the streaming service Crave in the North American country; they were able to view it for a couple of hours before it was taken down.

The episode being released was not considered a mistake by the producing network, and a spokesperson for the company asked those who think they have discovered the outcome of the series to "avoid sharing potential spoilers".

"We kindly ask those who thinks they know the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves," the statement said.

"We ask you to refrain from posting potential spoilers so that the vast audience who have been closely watching every twist and turn of the series can experience the finale this night."

The Celebrity Traitors is presently the most-watched TV program of the current year, with an mean of 12.6 million viewers over the first four episodes.
