Former Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.

The Grave Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

List of Charges

The charging documents outline the forty-five charges comprise:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities have asked individuals with information to get in touch with the relevant police force.
