The Blue Jays Secure Fall Classic Showdown With the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Astros claiming the World Series in 2017.

Canada's MLB team reached their initial Fall Classic after 1993 by overcoming the Seattle Mariners in the decisive Game 7 of the ALCS.

Trailing three runs to one, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run blast in the seventh, guiding the sole Canadian team in Major League Baseball to a four games to three triumph in the best-of-seven series. They will now face the Dodgers, the team that is the current crown, in the anticipated championship.

"It's incredible for everyone here, Toronto, Canada," Springer stated, a star of the Houston Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "What an amazing experience."

Springer has now hit 23 post-season home runs, placing him third in history after Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (27).

"It's hard to imagine another player on planet Earth that I'd choose in that situation except for George Springer with his post-season brilliance," remarked Schneider.

The Mariners, despite leading the early in the series, continue to be the sole team never to appear in a Fall Classic.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson stated "certainly that it hurts" in the wake of his side's defeat at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but praised their work in the campaign.

"It's a special team. It's a shame that we ended up on the losing end of the series," he continued.

Toronto secured the title on each of their earlier trips in the early 90s, and will welcome the Dodgers in the first game on Friday.
